‘Ruth Ellen’ is a hybrid dogwood (Cornus Florida x Cornus kousa). Profusely bracting, bathed in stunning white bracts held atop the branches in late spring. It has attractive yellow tipped green foliage throughout the growing season. The pointed leaves are highly ornamental in autumn, turning an outstanding plum purple, with magnificent crimson berries in early autumn. Tends to grow wider than high.
