Acer palmatum ‘Otome zakura’

This semi- dwarf tree has brilliant spring leaves which are of two kinds, large and small on the same tree. The spring colour is a vibrant scarlet flame to pink flame, this colour holds well, then changes to a maroon red, as summer progresses green tones blend in as under shading. Autumn colour may develop some pink tones, blending with the fading summer colours. An outstanding cultivar.
