A beautiful and must have maple. The buds do not grow in the opposite pairing, often with fasciated growth. The new growth a branching may even twist and curl like a pigs tail. The leaves are a darker green that change to a purple near the edges. Bright green in summer, with bright pink secondary new growth. Autumn colours of oranges to reds.
