It is known for its winter stem colour which is lighter red than ‘Sango kaku’ on the upper exposed side, and yellow orange on the lower side. The fall colours are said to be better than ‘Sango kaku’ with yellow, gold and crimson tones. An upright-growing tree which is tolerant of full sun.
