Acer palmatum ‘Hime shojo’
Well drained neutral/acid
A true delight. Has a compact structure, small leaves which emerge bright red in early spring and then turn to a deeper red as the season progresses. In full sun ‘Hime shojo’ will retain its red colour very well, and even in partial shade. During autumn the foliage turns to an even darker shade of maroon.
’Hime’ means that the tree has smaller leaves, ‘shojo’ describes its maroon summer colour.
